ORDINARY TRAINS of the "Bundesbahn" make traveling really slow because they stop in every small village !!!!!
FAST TRAINS, E-Trains,( Eilzuege) ignore the little villages and stop
only in bigger towns. They are a lot faster than ORDINARY TRAINS !!!!!
LONG DISTANCE TRAINS are trains called D- trains. They are the king of all
trains. They have a kitchen, you can get food, they stop only in big cities
about the size of Munchen or Frankfurt( Frankfurt is actually very small)
and they have beds there. They are pretty quiet and travel with a speed
of over 100 miles/hr.I call it felony speed !!!!! They are dam fast !
Never open the window at those speeds !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, you can take a train in Frankfurt and go directly to Rome or Paris
or Amsterdam with one or two stops only. Only a D-train( D -Zug) can do it.
I grew up in the Frankfurt area, and all these D-trains there had signs
thad said things like : TO ROME, STOPS IN MUNCHEN !!!! Some of them
said: TO PARIS, STOPS IN KOLN. The one I sometimes took always said:
TO FEHMARN ( way north),STOPS IM LUBECK. They are cool trains.
Have a nice trip through Europe !!!!!!!!!
I am looking for some advice. I was once in the military and lived in Frankfurt, Germany. I loved the people there so much, I plan on returning next year. I was wondering if I can take a train from Frankfurt to such places outside the country like Amsterdam and other countries like Italy and Austria. Europe is a cool place to visit. I really want to come back. Please, no smart asses.
